Questions

Do I need to be a paying Cowral customer?

No. Anyone with a Cowral account can join, including people on the free Starter plan.

How much can I earn?

Pro is $19 a month. With the 20% referral discount on the first 3 months, each Pro customer you refer earns you about $65 in their first year. Ten customers is about $650.

How long does my link remember someone?

60 days from their last click on your link. If they click another creator's link after yours, the latest link gets the credit.

When do I get paid?

Each commission is held for 30 days in case of a refund, then it's ready to pay. We pay at the start of each month once you have at least $50 ready, through Stripe to your bank account.

Who handles my bank and tax details?

Stripe does. You set up payouts on Stripe's own page, and Stripe collects your identity, bank and tax information. Cowral never sees it. US creators receive tax forms from Stripe when required.

Can I use my own link to get the discount?

No. You can't refer yourself or accounts you control, and referrals only count for brand-new Cowral accounts.

Program terms

Last updated October 20, 2026. By joining the program you agree to these terms and to the Cowral Terms of Service.

  1. Who can join. Anyone with a Cowral account who is old enough to hold a Stripe account in their country. We can decline or remove any affiliate who breaks these terms.
  2. What you earn. 30% of each payment a referred customer makes to Cowral in the 12 months after their first payment, excluding taxes. Commissions are in US dollars.
  3. What counts as a referral. A new Cowral account created within 60 days of the person's last click on your link, and attached to it within 7 days of sign-up. Existing customers, accounts that already subscribed, and your own accounts don't count. If someone clicks several affiliate links, the last one gets the credit.
  4. The discount. Referred customers get 20% off their first 3 months of Pro. It can't be combined with other offers.
  5. Refunds and chargebacks. Each commission is held for 30 days. If a payment is refunded or charged back, its commission is reduced or removed. If it was already paid to you, the amount is taken off your next payout.
  6. Payouts. Paid monthly through Stripe Connect once your ready balance is at least $50. You need to complete Stripe's payout setup, and Stripe must support payouts in your country. Unpaid balances carry over to the next month.
  7. Disclosure. You must clearly tell your audience that you earn a commission, every time you share your link, as the FTC's Endorsement Guides require (for example: “I earn a commission if you upgrade through my link”). Only recommend Cowral if you genuinely mean it.
  8. Not allowed. Spam or unsolicited messages; bidding on “Cowral” or similar terms in paid search ads; posting your link on coupon or deal sites; misleading claims about Cowral, its prices or results; paying or rewarding people to sign up; and fake or self-made accounts. Commissions earned this way are forfeited.
  9. Taxes. You are responsible for taxes on your earnings. Stripe may collect tax information and issue tax forms where required.
  10. Changes. We may change these terms or end the program with 30 days' notice by email. Commissions you earned before a change are still paid under the terms in place when they were earned.
