How we research and fact-check

What goes into every post on the Cowral blog, from the first source we read to the screenshot under a claim.

Who writes and edits

Posts are edited and published by Olu Sam, an SEO specialist and content creator. The byline on each post names the person responsible for it, and that person reads and approves every claim before it goes live.

Where our facts come from

We go to the primary source wherever one exists: the platform's own help center, terms and blog posts from YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and regulators like the FTC, IRS, SEC and FCA. News coverage is useful for spotting changes, but we check what it reports against the original page before we repeat it.

When sources disagree, or we can only find a claim in third-party blogs, we either say so in the post ("reported, not confirmed by TikTok") or leave the claim out. Each post ends with a list of the sources it relies on.

Screenshots and numbers

Screenshots of official pages show the exact passage behind a claim. We crop them, highlight the key phrase and say so in the caption, and the caption links to the page. We don't screenshot other creators' content or anyone's personal information.

Numbers like earnings ranges and posting times come from Cowral's own free tools, captured on the day we write. They're estimates, and we label them that way. We don't publish experiments, reviews or results we didn't actually run.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with research and drafting: finding and summarizing sources, suggesting structure and producing a first draft. AI output is never published as fact on its own. Every claim is checked against the sources above, and every post is edited by a person before it goes live.

We don't use AI to invent quotes, reviews, testimonials, people or data.

Corrections and updates

Platform rules change often. When something we published is out of date or wrong, we fix the post and the date it was updated appears at the top. If you spot an error, email hello@cowral.comwith the post and the source, and we'll check it.

Who publishes this blog

The Cowral blog is published by Cowral, and posts mention Cowral's own tools where they're useful. We publish only on cowral.com, under our own name.
